About this painting, Roger says "I have done something rather different with this painting. Rather than the normal viewing point, which is standing, I have painted it as though the viewer is sitting down in the field of poppies and looking at the church through the poppies, which I have done to create a more three dimensional quality, added to by the poppies being painted impasto. In the real thing you can see the brush strokes and build up of paint on the petals of the poppies".
